Sony Online Entertainment (SOE) is a leader in online multiplayer gaming. Its hugely popular EverQuest title has a base of members who each pay Sony a monthly subscription fee to join teams of virtual personas playing in the game's imaginary world, and the game's success has spawned a number of expansion titles, inculding EverQuest II. Sony Online Entertainment also produces titles such as PlanetSide and Star Wars Galaxies, a multiplayer online game it developed with Lucasarts.
