Game Overview: The sequel to the sequel has been announced. In this game you will be able to communicate with your ship at long distances as well as enter :hypermode" which will allow you to do special moves.
Key Features:
- The use of the Wii controller that has been shown so far has barely begun to scratch the surface of what's to come.
- Samus' ship will play big part in “Corruption', included will be the use of a new visor to communicate with it from large distances and command it do to things remotely.
- Players will be able to enter “Hyper Mode' at regular intervals allowing for special new abilities to be accessed.
- There are no current plans to incorporate the speaker on the controller into the game just yet (due to its recent announcement) however the possibility has not been ruled out.
- Players will be able to customise the sensitivity of the Wii controller in-game.
- “Corruption's' gameplay won't be affected by the positioning of the “Sensor Bar' in relation to your TV.
- The storyline revolves around the sub-plot element from previous titles that is the material known as Phazon. “Corruption' will tie up the Phazon storyline and provide motivation for Samus to traverse the planets that she does. In fact Samus herself will become corrupted by the substance herself. This opens up new gameplay features (such as the new “Hyper Mode' mentioned previously). The aim of the game is to find a “cure' for the Phazon corruption.
- There will be no online multiplayer, the developers want to take the game back to the roots of Metroid's immersive single player experience.
- The option to download new upgrades and weapons is being discussed.
- All the bosses in the game will be brand new, but there will be a small number of familiar faces as well (such as Ridley, seen in the E3 demo).
- The weapon system will be evolving to take an approach similar to that found in Super Metroid where players can “stack' weapons to create new effects. (Even the grapple beam will be stackable to become more powerful!) There will also be a new beam weapon that allows Samus to shoot through walls and the like.
- The aforementioned “Hyper Mode' will allow Samus to become extremely powerful for a short amount of time, however in doing so players risk killing Samus off and draining all their Phazon reserves.
- The character that comes to Samus' aid in the E3 demo that looked reminiscent of Noxus from Metroid Prime Hunters is in fact named Rundus.
- The developers are working very closely with Mr. Tanabe and his team, who have provided a lot of great ideas. Please log in to write a User Review.
