Paradox Interactive announced today that "Europa Universalis III", their flagship title has surpassed any expectations previously set for media impression and gamer reviews.

One week after release, "Europa Universalis III" has already hit the top 1 spot on Gamespots* Top 10 list of most popular PC games, beating titles like recently released "World of Warcraft “ Burning Crusade".

In addition to scoring high in reviews worldwide, the game has also been awarded Editor Choice Awards by prestigious media outlets like IGN, 1UP.com, Games for Windows Magazine and GamePro.

"'Europa Universalis III' appeals to high achievers who like to challenge themselves mentally and this is one aspect of the game that sets it aside from the majority of games being released on the market, said Fredrik Wester, Executive Vice President. "When a game like "Europa Universalis III" is understood and appreciated for its unique qualities it speaks volumes about the increased competence of most game journalists today."
Europa Universalis III shipped to stores in North America on Jan 23, in Germany and Scandinavia on Jan 26 and the game will ship to stores on Feb 2 in the UK, Benelux and France.
