Leaders from EGLN, Electronic Sports League, GameHead, GameTrailers, GotFrag, Meet Your Makers, and Xfire to Discuss Controversies Surrounding One of The Most Played FPS Games of All Time
The Xfire Debate Club: The Two-Handed Sword
today announced its second gathering to discuss "The Future of
Counter-Strike." Representatives from EGLN, Electronic Sports League,
GameHead, GameTrailers, GotFrag, Meet Your Makers, and Xfire will
participate in the heated discussion moderated by Craig Levine, founder
of Team3D and the E-Sports Entertainment Association. "The Future of
Counter-Strike" will take place on February 28 at 7:00pm ET at www.xfire.com/debate.
As
the Counter-Strike community and top professional gaming teams slowly
migrate from Counter-Strike: 1.6 to Counter-Strike: Source, there is a
lot of controversy in the e-sports scene. Xfire's expert panel will
debate the pros and cons of upgrading to the better-looking Source vs.
staying with the still relevant 1.6. Other subtopics will include
Valve's digital distribution system Steam, Counter-Strike's future on
television, the constant combat against cheaters, and the contribution
of game mods.
The list of debaters includes: Shaun
Hetherington, EGLN; Manuel Hoedemakers & Sebastian Weishaar, ESL;
Geoff Keighley, SPIKE TV's GameHead; Daniel Kayser, GameTrailers;
Trevor Schmidt, GotFrag; Maik Brodowski, Meet Your Makers; and Frederic
Descamps, Xfire.
During Xfire Debate Club meetings,
participating Xfire users have the opportunity to voice their opinions.
Participants that give the most intelligent and thought-provoking
arguments will receive invites to the exclusive Xfire Debate Club Clan:
The Two-Handed Sword.
