Total Prize money of Rs.15 lakhs, 10 finalists to get an all expense paid trip toSeattle for the World Championship
Indiagames, the exclusive Indian franchise owner of the global World
Cyber Games ('"WCG'ÂÂ) competition will conduct the India national
qualifiers for the WCG 2007 in 7 cities starting August 11th 2007. The
Indian qualifiers will be held in Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Kolkata,
Hyderabad, Delhi and Pune and the global finals at Seattle, Washington,
USA. The total prize money to be won at WCG India will be Rs.15 Lahks
and the TEN finalists from the India qualifiers will be flown on an all
expense paid trip to Seattle to represent the country in the global
finals where they will compete for the USD 300, 000 (US $ Three hundred
Thousand) prize money.
The theme selected for WCG 2007 is
'"Beyond the Game' '" which means the WCG is not just a world game
tournament but also combines the world to create harmony and enjoyment
through the shared emotions. This will be the seventh time Indiagames
will hold the WCG in India. Corporate partners for the WCG 2007 include
worldwide Sponsor Samsung Electronics, Microsoft's X-box 360, Kingstone
and media partners Bindaas and Radio Mirchi. The event is also being
supported by NASSCOM - the largest software and IT trade body and CII -
the leading industry and trade association in India.
Several
thousand players across India will compete in a mix of solo and team
events based on the games like Counter Strike, FIFA, Need for Speed,
Warcroft, Age of Empires on the PC and Project Gotham Racing on the
XBOX 360 platform.'ÂÂ

The WCG 2007
qualifiers are scheduled as '" New Delhi (11 & 12 August), Chennai
(18 & 19 August), Kolkatta (18 & 19 August), Hyderabad (23
& 24 August), Bangalore (28 & 29 August), Pune (2 & 3
September), Mumbai (7th & 8th September) with the India Finals on
the 9th of September in Mumbai. Registration to the WCG India
qualifiers will start on from 23rd July and will be open till 4th
