Moscow to Berlin: Red Siege is all about World War 2. Within Red Siege you will command several new units as well as the same ones from previous Moscow to Berlin games though this time the new content will be focused on the Red Side. Among these new units are the series' first planes. These planes allow you to take the battle to a whole new level as you order air strikes and drop off your troops from mid air. In Red Siege you will battle through three of the toughest campaigns in military history: Operation Barbarossa, the War in Russia, and the Fight Towards Berlin.

The Moscow to Berlin series has always been about RTS gameplay and this does not stop with Red Siege but this is no regular "one size fits all" RTS because there is no pre-battle preparations since both sides already have a well established force. Red Siege is an RTS and as such you will have a steep learning curve which is quite reasonable but if you have not played previous games from the series you will have much more to learn with out help. At first you will be defeated several times before you completely understand what does what and how to accomplish your goal. After you finally learn the ropes you can challenge your friends in the 3 multiplayer online games available. These games include Offering Conquer mode, The Classic Capture the Flag mode, and the Deathmatch mode. Each mode requiring a different style of gameplay to beat your opponents.

Red Siege also features over 100 weapons, and an in-game main menu encyclopedia that showcases each weapon with in the game. Some of the new weapons include rocket launchers, which fire rapidly but with low accuracy, mortars, which shoot shells at short distances and in fast sequences, and the artillery, which is an effective weapon for remote bombardment of enemy positions. These new weapons force you to think of a new strategy to get the same goals accomplished with the fewest fatalities.

Along with new Weapons there is also new AI Elements, six total. These elements include such abilities as automatically retreating and giving up as well as being able to jump off trucks and armored vehicles once they reach the designated location. Encirclement & Breakout requires you to well encircle your opponent while they are trying to breakout from all sides or vice versa. Even though these AI Elements sound nice alone they do not affect gameplay much when playing most missions.

There are AI path problems, clipping problems, and zoom problems as you can only zone out to see about a sixth of the map. This means you may not see all your deployed units which can lead to problems while in a high risk combat zone. Though there are some positives on the graphic side such at the nice lighting and shadow effects, and the fog of war. You can also zoom in close to your units and view the great detail that each unit has.

Even though the gameplay concept sounds very intriguing Red Siege sadly does not stand out among other World War II RTS Games. It is basically the same as all the others and the battles can seems both boring and repetitive. The graphics for Red Siege are about average when compared to other RTS Games such as Sudden Strike and the AI could have been a little smarter. All-in-All Moscow to Berlin: Red Siege is an average RTS game that most hardcore RTS Players and Moscow to Berlin Fans would enjoy.
